Professional Training delivered by EISMV
EISMV provides qualifying training for graduated veterinarians. These courses are especially designed for professionals who need to round off their knowledge or to improve their competences. They address the needs of public service agents as well as those of private veterinarians. Within the framework of its activities as an OIE collaborating centre for the training of official veterinarians, EISMV develops specific training modules for this particular public.
These training sessions can be implemented according to various terms:
- Individual professional training, within EISMV laboratories and technical platforms,
- Group training sessions based on EISMV catalogue,
- “A la carte” courses, designed to answer specific requests. In the last two cases, trainings can be implemented on the EISMV campus, or in the different member countries, depending on needs and requests.
Here follow a few examples of individual professional trainings implemented within EISMV technical platforms:
- training of one Burkinabe technician for 2 months on artificial insemination within the biochemistry and endocrinology laboratory, in 2008;
- training of two Chadian technicians for 3 months on food microbiological and physicochemical analyses, in 2008-2009;
- training of one veterinarian from the Republic of Central Africa for 6 months on “Newcastle disease seroprevalence in backyard poultry”, within the microbiology and immunology laboratory, in 2009.
These are a few examples of group trainings implemented by EISMV:
- Veterinary products: legislative and regulatory issues;
- Crisis management, contingency plans and media training;
- Quantitative and statistical methods for ecology and epidemiology;
- Laboratory diagnostic techniques (course designed for clinicians).
EISMV also contributes to the implementation of training sessions organised by its partners.
