The Scientific Council monitors scientific quality of research and approves EISMV’s scientific programme.
The Scientific Council is chaired by a tenured professor of veterinary science, appointed by the Board of Directors. Currently, the Scientific Council is chaired by Professor Bhen Sikina TOGUEBAYE of University Cheikh Anta DIOP of Dakar.
The members of the Scientific Council are the Director General of EISMV, three Heads of Department, the Coordinator of Research and Development, two teachers, two international scientific personalities and a representative of donors engaged in school research programmes.
At its fifth session in 2005, the Scientific Council decided that its meetings would now be biennial. The eigth session was held in July 2011.
